Florida Baptist University is part of the University of America University System. Florida Baptist University is a distance-learning higher institution in the Baptist tradition. FBU is chartered by the Florida Department of State, division of Corporation and  meets all requirements  to operate as a religious exempt  institution  by the Florida Department of Education Commission on Independent Education to prepare students for religious vocations as ministers, professionals, and laypersons in the categories of ministry, Counselling, theology, education, administration, music, Fine Arts, Media Communications, and Social Works, and to award the following degrees: A.A., AAS, B.A., BS, MA, MS, Professional Doctorates, and Ph.D. in the same subjects.
